August 23, 2026 — Playback that follows along, long recordings, faster clips, guides

New: Audio playback for every recording, with a transcript that follows along — the spoken line stays centred while it plays; scroll to take over, tap Follow to resume.
Improved: Long recordings (an hour and more) are transcribed in chunks and stitched into one transcript instead of failing partway through.
Improved: Uploads show real progress, and the per-file length limit is checked up front with the file's actual duration.
Improved: Cutting a clip in the browser is several times faster, and the progress bar tracks the clip's length rather than the whole recording.
Fixed: Clip picks no longer end just before the payoff line — cut ranges are anchored to the exact opening and closing words.
Improved: Clip Studio: the sample video is free for everyone to practise on; cutting and exporting your own footage is part of Pro and Business.
Fixed: The Clip Studio sample is now a ~2-minute file every browser decodes, and a clear message appears if a browser refuses a video.

New: Recordings transcribed from a link play back inside the app — audio only, never a download; transcript lines seek the player.
New: Clip picks: one scan finds the strongest moments in a recording; reveal one to five at a time, with the quote and timecodes for each.
Improved: Chat stays on the recording: off-topic questions are declined and never billed, and repeating a question is answered from the stored conversation at no cost.
Improved: Chat credits count answered questions only — four per credit.
Improved: YouTube links use the video's existing captions when available, so the transcript arrives in seconds rather than minutes.
New: Link submissions ask you to confirm you own the content or have permission to transcribe it.

Fixed: YouTube link transcription failing with a "platform may be blocking requests" error.
