About DomeScribe

What is DomeScribe?

DomeScribe (domescribe.ai) is a content engine for independent creators, built by Domichron Inc.: it transcribes video and audio to text in 99 languages — from an uploaded file, pasted text, or a link to seven platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, Vimeo, Twitch, Dailymotion) — then turns the transcript into a summary with chapters, show notes, posts, a newsletter, answers to your questions, and clip picks. It also includes browser-based tools that convert, compress, and extract audio from files you upload. Everything runs from the browser — there is nothing to install.

Who makes DomeScribe?

DomeScribe is built and operated by Domichron Inc. You can reach the team at support@domescribe.ai or through the contact page.

Is DomeScribe safe and legit?

Yes. DomeScribe has no ads, pop-ups, or bundled downloads — the common risks of free media sites. Conversion, compression, and audio extraction run entirely in your browser, so those files never touch our servers. Recordings transcribed server-side are handled conservatively: the original upload is deleted once transcription finishes, a compressed audio copy is kept only for in-app playback for the transcript's lifetime, and transcripts are encrypted at rest and auto-deleted after 30 days. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Does DomeScribe work on mobile?

Yes. DomeScribe runs in the browser on any modern phone, tablet, or computer — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux. There is no app to install: open domescribe.ai, paste a link or pick a file, and go.

What can DomeScribe do with a transcript?

Once a recording is transcribed, DomeScribe can generate a summary with timestamped chapters (1 AI credit), repurpose the transcript into show notes, a blog post, a LinkedIn post, an X thread, a YouTube description, or a newsletter (1 credit per draft), answer questions about the recording with timestamps (4 answered questions per credit), and find clip-worthy moments (2 credits for the first scan, 1 for each further batch). Every plan includes AI credits — 5 one-time on Free, 300 a month on Pro, 1,500 a month on Business.

Pricing and the free plan

Is DomeScribe free?

DomeScribe is free to start, with no card required. Free accounts get a one-time 30-minute transcription allowance (not a monthly reset), 5 AI credits, the Clip Studio sample to practise on, and the browser-based convert, compress, and extract tools, which have no monthly limits. Paid plans add monthly transcription minutes, longer files, more AI credits, Clip Studio with your own footage, and DOCX, PDF, and JSON transcript exports.

What does the DomeScribe free plan include?

The DomeScribe free plan includes a one-time 30-minute transcription allowance (files up to 30 minutes each) with plain-text export, 5 AI credits for summaries, repurposing, chat, and clip picks, and the browser-based converter, compressors, and audio extractor with no monthly limits. The transcription allowance does not reset monthly — paid plans provide monthly minutes. No credit card is required to start.

How much does DomeScribe cost?

DomeScribe is free to start. Pro is $19 a month for 1,000 transcription minutes a month, files up to 4 hours, 300 AI credits a month, 3 concurrent jobs, Clip Studio with your own footage, and DOCX, PDF, and JSON exports. Business is $79 a month for 5,000 minutes, files up to 8 hours, 1,500 credits, and 10 concurrent jobs. Annual billing saves about 30%. Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled — you can cancel anytime, and the pricing page has the full comparison.

Privacy and your files

Does DomeScribe store my files?

Only what playback needs, and some files never reach DomeScribe's servers at all. Conversion, compression, and audio extraction from uploaded files run inside your browser — those files never leave your device. Recordings transcribed server-side work like this: the original upload is deleted once transcription finishes; a compressed audio copy is kept only so you can play the recording back in the app, for the transcript's lifetime, and is never offered for download; transcripts are encrypted at rest and auto-delete 30 days after creation on every plan (export them anytime, or erase them sooner from your dashboard).

Which tools process files in my browser?

Video conversion, audio conversion, video compression, audio compression, audio extraction from an uploaded video, and Clip Studio export rendering all run client-side using WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm) — your file is processed on your own device and is never uploaded. Transcription runs on DomeScribe's servers (OpenAI Whisper), and the AI features send the transcript text to OpenAI to generate results.

Are my transcripts private?

Yes. DomeScribe transcripts are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using per-user keys derived from a server-held master key, transferred over TLS, and automatically deleted 30 days after creation. We never sell your data and never use your content to train AI models.

Can I download the video or audio from a link I transcribed?

No. A platform link goes in and a transcript comes out — DomeScribe never provides the media itself as a file. You can play the audio back inside the app while the transcript exists, and the AI features work on the transcript, but there is no download.

Using the tools

Which platforms can I transcribe from a link?

DomeScribe transcribes from links on seven platforms: YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, Facebook, X/Twitter, Vimeo, Twitch (clips and VODs), and Dailymotion. Paste the URL, confirm you have the rights to transcribe it, and DomeScribe returns the text — the media is fetched only to produce the transcript, and a compressed audio copy is kept for in-app playback only.

What languages can DomeScribe transcribe?

DomeScribe transcribes 99 languages — including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, and Hindi — with automatic language detection if you don't want to pick one.

What file types can I upload for transcription?

Upload MP3, WAV, M4A, FLAC, MP4, MOV, or WebM files. Video is converted to audio on the server before transcription. Free accounts can transcribe files up to 30 minutes; Pro allows up to 4 hours per file and Business up to 8 hours.

Do I need to install any software?

No. Every DomeScribe tool runs in the browser — there is no desktop app, extension, or download required. That also means there is nothing that can bundle adware onto your computer.

Can I transcribe content I do not own?

You are responsible for having the rights to any content you upload or link, and every link submission asks you to confirm it. DomeScribe produces transcripts for personal archiving, research, accessibility, and working with your own media; it does not provide copies of the source media. Platform terms of service restrict redistributing other people's content.
