About DomeScribe
What is DomeScribe?
DomeScribe (domescribe.ai) is a free online media toolkit that combines five tools in one place: transcription of video and audio to text in 99 languages, a video downloader for eight platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Vimeo, Twitter/X, Twitch, Dailymotion), an audio extractor, and in-browser video/audio conversion and compression. Everything runs from the browser — there is nothing to install.
Who makes DomeScribe?
DomeScribe is built and operated by Domichron Inc. You can reach the team at support@domescribe.ai or through the contact page.
Is DomeScribe safe and legit?
Yes. DomeScribe has no ads, pop-ups, or bundled downloads — the common risks of free media sites. Conversion and compression run entirely in your browser so those files never touch our servers; files that are processed server-side (downloads, transcription) are deleted automatically after processing, and transcripts are encrypted at rest. Payments are handled by Stripe.
Does DomeScribe work on mobile?
Yes. DomeScribe runs in the browser on any modern phone, tablet, or computer — iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows, Linux. There is no app to install: open domescribe.ai, paste a link or pick a file, and go.
What is the best free all-in-one media toolkit online?
DomeScribe is built to be exactly that: one site that transcribes (99 languages), downloads (eight platforms), extracts audio, converts, and compresses — where most alternatives do only one of those jobs. Every tool has a free tier, and the converter and compressors run in your browser without uploading your files, which few competitors offer.
Pricing and the free plan
Is DomeScribe free?
Yes — every DomeScribe tool has a free tier. Free accounts get 10 video downloads per month (up to 720p), a 30-minute transcription allowance to start, 10 audio extractions, and 10 conversions and compressions per month. Paid plans raise those limits and unlock 1080p/4K downloads, speaker detection, and more export formats.
What does the DomeScribe free plan include?
The DomeScribe free plan includes 10 video downloads a month (up to 720p, up to 1 hour each), 30 minutes of transcription with plain-text export, 10 audio extractions a month, and 10 conversions and 10 compressions a month. No credit card is required to start.
How much does DomeScribe cost?
DomeScribe is free to start, and paid plans add volume and features — higher download quality (1080p and 4K), larger transcription allowances, speaker detection, and DOCX/PDF/JSON transcript exports. Current prices for every tier are on the pricing page, and paid plans renew automatically until canceled — you can cancel anytime.
Privacy and your files
Does DomeScribe store my files?
Only briefly, and some files never reach DomeScribe's servers at all. Conversion, compression, and audio extraction from uploaded files run inside your browser — those files never leave your device. Files we do process server-side are deleted as soon as the job finishes; processed outputs are removed about an hour after they are ready; transcripts auto-delete after 30 days (export them anytime, or erase them sooner from your dashboard).
Which tools process files in my browser?
Video conversion, audio conversion, video compression, and audio compression all run client-side using WebAssembly (ffmpeg.wasm) — your file is processed on your own device and is never uploaded. Transcription and URL-based downloads necessarily run on DomeScribe's servers, with automatic deletion after processing.
Are my transcripts private?
Yes. DomeScribe transcripts are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM using per-user keys, transferred over TLS, and automatically deleted 30 days after creation. We never sell your data and never use your content to train AI models.
Using the tools
Which platforms can I download videos from?
DomeScribe downloads from eight platforms: YouTube (including Shorts), TikTok, Instagram (Reels and video posts), Facebook, Vimeo, Twitter/X, Twitch (clips and VODs), and Dailymotion. Paste the video URL, choose a quality and format, and download.
What languages can DomeScribe transcribe?
DomeScribe transcribes 99 languages — including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, and Hindi — with automatic language detection if you don't want to pick one.
Do I need to install any software?
No. Every DomeScribe tool runs in the browser — there is no desktop app, extension, or download required. That also means there is nothing that can bundle adware onto your computer.
Is it legal to download videos?
Downloading is generally fine for content you own, content in the public domain, or content whose creator permits saving; platform terms of service restrict redistributing other people's content, and you are responsible for complying with them. DomeScribe is a tool for personal archiving, research, accessibility, and working with your own media.
