Convert FLAC to MP3 Online
Pick a FLAC file and convert it to MP3 for easy sharing and playback on any device. Free, in-browser conversion with no monthly limit.
How it works
- Upload your FLAC file. Drag your FLAC audio into the audio converter. Files at any sample rate — including 96 kHz and 192 kHz — are accepted.
- Select MP3 as the output. DomeScribe encodes MP3 at a high variable bitrate (around 190 kbps). Most listeners cannot tell that from the lossless source.
- Convert in your browser. Click Convert. The FLAC is decoded and re-encoded on your device; it is never uploaded.
- Save the MP3. Save the result with a free account. The MP3 plays on car stereos, basic players, and apps that do not support FLAC.

Frequently asked questions
Why convert FLAC to MP3 instead of keeping the lossless file?
FLAC files are significantly larger and not universally supported — many car stereos, basic MP3 players, and some apps cannot play them. Converting to MP3 with DomeScribe makes your music portable and compatible with virtually every audio device.
Will I notice the difference from FLAC?
Most listeners cannot distinguish FLAC from MP3 at around 190 kbps and above in blind tests, which is the variable-bitrate setting DomeScribe uses. Keep the FLAC as your archive copy and use the MP3 for portable listening.
Does DomeScribe keep the tags and album art?
Standard tags such as title, artist, and album are carried over when present. Embedded cover art is not guaranteed to survive the conversion — check the file in your music app and re-add artwork with a tag editor if needed.
Can I batch-convert my entire FLAC music library?
DomeScribe processes one file at a time, but each conversion is fast — typically a few seconds per track — and there is no monthly limit, so you can work through a library file by file.
Will converting hi-res FLAC (96 kHz / 24-bit) to MP3 cause problems?
No. The MP3 encoder resamples high sample rates down to a standard rate automatically. The result plays anywhere; the extra resolution of the hi-res source simply is not carried into the MP3.
